Photographing weddings in Thailand has its very own special charm. Not only that you mostly enjoy this beautiful day barefoot in the warm sand, some weddings are almost like an adventure holiday. Our wedding venues are often hundreds of kilometers away from each other and to achieve some of the resorts, you often have to accept unusual arrivals. It was a joy, travelling to the small island Koh Yao Noi, located enchantingly beautiful in the limestone scenery and not really far away from Phuket Town. Koh Yao Noi is like a paradise, especially if you are coming directly from the hectic and stressful Phuket. We took the small car ferry to Koh Yao Yai and drove to the northern part of the island in the hope that we can set over our car and all our luggage to Koh Yao Noi with another ferry. But there where nor ferry at all. We had to load all our luggage on a long tail boat, leave the car at the pier and then chugged by long tail to the neighboring island. A taxi then has brought us to our accommodation. After a short break to relax and get some food we had rent a motorbike and went the 12km to the Paradise Resort. The last 6 kilometers were a very special challenge because it was only a gravel road right through the jungle, washed out by the rain, slippery and completely unlit at night. But we finally made it and arrived in time to meet up with our wedding couple at the resort. Together we have visited the wedding location and discussed the final details for the upcoming beach wedding. We went back home after sunset, a large monitor lizard crossed comfortably our way and the monkeys in the high treetops told loudly goodnight stories. It took us more than 45 minutes to get home but we arrived save and happy at our resort. On the wedding day we went again on this spectacular jungle trip. This time we had our motorcycle packed with camera and tripod bags and drove off. We arrived as always on time at the Paradise Resort and visited the newlyweds at their Vila. With plenty of time left until the wedding ceremony on the beach we took lots of wedding We took wedding pictures by the pool, and of course in the great scenery of the resort. A slightly cloudy sky kept the temperatures at an acceptable level. In the early afternoon the groom finally took the bride from the room. A small drum parade led the bride and groom along with the two witnesses to the beach for the official ceremony where the couple tied the knot. After another small photo shoot we went to the champagne reception on a chartered catamaran that took us to a small private island. This beautiful wedding day ended with a romantic wedding dinner on the beach and we were so thankful being invited as well.
